Strenght : Eccentric back (versa pulley) on a fitball (core engagement)

Versapulley eccentric work on a fitball

Here we have one of the lastest generation in musculation: "The Versapulley". This new technology enables the eccentric contraction. This kind of trainning is based on an elongation of the muscle, which is in tension due to an opposing force being greater than it's own genereted power. The muscle acts to decelerate the joint at the end of a movement. The last research (LaStayo 2003) proves that this eccentric contraction produces a power and volume increase, almost 19% more than a traditional work.

A very important fact concerning Versapulley is that you can work in a dynamic way, which is the basis of the specific musculation in tennis. The power given when you pull the machine is given back, which anables to work with maximum values. Working with various intensities is very therapeutic, often used for recovering after injuries.

With the Versapulley not only you involve an isolated muscle, but also a muscular chain from the legs to the arms, being the medium zone (belly aera and the mid and lower back with the pelvic flor muscles, tranversus abdominis, multifidus, internal and external obliques, rectus adbominis, longissimus thoracis and the diaphragm) which is the center of the transfer of power. All the mouvements for all the muscles are allowed thanks to The Versapulley to provide mouvements in three different dimensions.

In the previous video you can see one of the numerous possible exercices, in addition with another component: the balance on a fitball. First, you should try to have a good balance on the fitball with your knees, and then try to hold hard strength’s instabilities, changing the confort stability of your feet by the imbalance of a fitball.
